At Not Another Marketing Agency, we are proud to work with businesses that put Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) – running a business to ensure that your community benefits – at the forefront of their values. Effective CSR is a key part of our business core, and we are delighted to announce that Not Another Marketing Agency has recently been re-accredited with the Good Business Charter.
What is the Good Business Charter?
The Good Business Charter is an initiative of the Good Business Foundation. Businesses that have been accredited by the Good Business Charter are able to prove that they take their responsibilities to their staff and the wider community seriously. This may take different forms for different businesses, but there are ten core components that every business must demonstrate to receive accreditation:
- Paying directly employed staff and regularly contracted staff at least the current real living wage.
- Environmental responsibility, showing they are committed to reducing their environmental impact.
- Fairer hours and contracts in place, including a fair approach to zero hours contracts.
- Pay a fair amount of tax and be open when it comes to their relationship and dealings with HMRC.
- The positive well-being of their employees, with fair and transparent policies in place.
- A commitment to their customers.
- Employee representation, strengthened by engaging with representatives of workers.
- Ethical sourcing, by committing to the Ethical Trading Initiative Base Code
- A clear commitment to diversity and inclusion
- Prompt payment to their suppliers
Why is it worth being accredited?
Essentially, accreditation from the Good Business Charter shows that a business is run fairly and ethically. Here at Not Another Marketing Agency, we can confidently demonstrate each of the points on the Good Business Charter, so it was important for us to apply for re-accreditation this year.
We think it’s also important for us to show our clients that they are working with a business that looks after its staff and contractors, that takes its environmental impact and legacy seriously and who also has a demonstrable commitment to diversity and inclusion.
Should I become accredited with the Good Business Charter?
Any business can apply to become accredited, and we would suggest that you read through the Good Business Charter components here to check that your company can demonstrate each of them. We think accreditation to the Good Business Charter is a fantastic way to show your clients that you are taking your Corporate Social Responsibility seriously.
